Characteristics and Applications

TA-100 is a highly active thermal acid generator of the sulfonium salt type. Because it uses a special phosphorous-based anion, it has the same acid strength as SbF6 anion products, despite being non-Sb, and it shows high cation polymerizability. It also has excellent solubility in various solvents and monomers, including non-polar organic solvents.

Polymerization initiation temperature

Polymerization starts at 100 °C when blended with bisphenol A type glycidyl ether, and at 70 °C when blended with alicyclic epoxy.
Characteristics of the generated acid PF3(C2F5)3

Although it is a non-Sb type, it has an acid strength equivalent to that of Sb and exhibits high cationically polymerizable properties. In addition, the acid generator with this anion has excellent solubility in various solvents and monomers including non-polar organic solvents.

There is TA-100FG which is an FG anion.

Recommended amount of additive

Add about 0.5 to 1 wt% to the resin, depending on the application and film thickness.
