TA-100FG Heat acid generator (heat cationic polymerization initiator), sulfonium

Characteristics and Applications

TA-100FG is a highly active thermal acid generator of the sulfonium salt type. The use of a special anion means that, despite being a non-Sb compound, it has the same acid strength as the HSBF6 anion product, and it also exhibits high cation polymerizability. Furthermore, this compound has excellent low corrosiveness of the cured product and low discoloration when heated at high temperatures.

Polymerization initiation temperature

Polymerization starts at 100 °C when blended with bisphenol A type glycidyl ether, and at 70 °C when blended with alicyclic epoxy.
Characteristics of FG (special anion)

It has high acid strength and reactivity equivalent to HSbF6. In addition, corrosion of peripheral members and coloring during heat curing can be suppressed.
For types with different acids produced

There is TA-100 which is a PF3(C2F5)3 anion.

Recommended amount of additive

Add about 0.5 to 1 wt% to the resin, depending on the application and film thickness.
