CPI-310FGIonic Photoacid Generator, Photo-Cationic Polymerization Initiator (Sulfonium)

Characteristics and Applications

CPI-310FG is a sulfonium salt type photoacid generator with high sensitivity to i-line, a special grade unique to our company. The anion structure is a special anion (FG) of our proprietary design, which exhibits high cationic polymerization. It also has excellent low metal corrosion of cured materials and low coloration when heated at high temperatures. CPI-310FG is a non-solvent type powder product.

  • Regarding absorbed wavelengths
    The i-line (365 nm) absorbs about 600 [M-1 cm-1] in terms of molar extinction coefficient.
    There is no absorption in the h-line (405 nm) and g-line (436 nm).
  • Characteristics of FG (special anion)
    It has high acid strength and reactivity equivalent to HSbF6. In addition, corrosion of peripheral members and coloring during heat curing can be suppressed.
  • Regarding different types of acids generated
    There is CPI-310B, which is a B(C6F5)4 anion.
    We have a track record of developing other anions such as sulfonates, so if you have any anions that you are interested in, please feel free to contact us.
  • Recommended amount of additive
    Add about 0.5 to 2 wt% to the resin, depending on the application and film thickness.
  • Recommended film thickness
    A medium film thickness of about 50 μm is suitable, although it depends on the application and the amount of addition.
    For thin films of 10 μm or less, the type with a large molar extinction coefficient (CPI-400 series, etc.) is suitable because the effect of transmittance is small. In the case of a thick film of 100 μm or more, the type with a small molar extinction coefficient (CPI-100, 200 series, etc.) has high light transmittance in the depth direction and can generate acid to the deep part.
