U-CAT SA851-Thermobase generator(TBG), DBU salt (liquid to solid type)

Characteristics and Applications

U-CAT SA851 is a powder-type heat-latent base generator.
It is a phenol novolac resin salt (20%) of DBU that softens at approximately 126℃ and is active.

U-CAT SA851 Structure
  • Regarding the application
    It is used as an epoxy curing accelerator for encapsulants for various electronic materials.
  • About latent heat catalysts
    It melts at a softening point of about 126 °C and exhibits catalytic activity.
  • Solubility
    It is poorly soluble in solvents and soluble in DMF and pyridine.
  • Differences from U-CAT SA831 and 841
    Since the DBU content is different, the softening point will change slightly. The softening points for each product number are as follows. You can select according to your resin system. Softening point ⇒ U-CAT SA831: Approx. 115 ℃, U-CAT SA841: Approx. 137 ℃, U-CAT SA851: Approx. 126 ℃
